Happiness is in season.

"I rejoice in knowing that
There is no oil without squeezing the olives,
No wine without pressing the grapes,
No fragrance without crushing the flowers
And no real joy without sorrow.” (Author unknown)

I have to remind myself daily that without hard times in life, we would never truly know what happiness and joy feel like.  We would, I believe, take life for granted and not appreciate every little ray of sunshine that breaks through the clouds.

We can become so engulfed in self that we don't see when God smiles on us through a child's laugh, a flower blooming or a even a song on the radio.  Life is fleeting, I recognize this more and more each day.   I want to see the little things in life and make them as big as I can.   Each smile given, each time someone says hello, each kind words spoken is precious and a gift and I will accept them with love and gratitude.

Hard times are just that, a time.  It's not ever lasting, it is a period, a season and I don't want to say "well when...." I want to say NOW is my time to be happy in every season and in every situation.   I'm done waiting to be happy, it's been here all along waiting for me.  I'm grateful for my hard times, they are making me a stronger better person.    Happiness is in season, always.
