Life is full of surprises!!!

You just never know what you're going to wake up to, life is never predictable.     Heading out the door to take my 10 year old to school, he "says my head really itches", so I look.....oh fuck!   LICE!  Surprise!!  I had to laugh because it had been so incredibly long since I delt with these critters when my two oldest were in Jr High, 7 years ago!!   Luckily I knew what to do.....finish my coffee, get dressed and head to the store.

My little guy seemed ok for the most part, a bit freaked out when I told him he had bugs crawling on his head.  He was a trooper and it was so much easier with hair that is 2" long instead of 14"!!!   We chatted while I shampooed his hair, talked while I combed it all out, laughed while I picked out the bugs as the real bug guy was here for his quarterly spraying of the house.   The only part he didn't like oddly enough was the essential oils sitting in his hair for 2 hours but I made him happy enough with chick-fil-a.     Soon enough the oils got washed out and it was time to relax between laundry cycles (still washing bedding 12 hours later).  We played Madden 17, yet another surprise, I actually won!  (and didn't get queezy from playing .....motion sickness almost always happens when I play on his x box)

I hate lice, please don't take what I'm about to say as affection towards the little shits but I enjoyed  today with this little guy.  I'm glad he had a day at home with me.    We don't get time, just he and I.  Oh, he'll get plenty come Aug when child #3 heads to college (on a visit now with his dad) but I like time with each child.   I wish I could have more one on one with all of them.

I'm pretty lucky, my kids are really cool and each such unique in their own right.    I thank God for the gift #4, had he not surprised us, come Aug I'd be all alone.   Life is full of surprises and I'm glad.
