The heart knows
"The heart, your intuition or gut feeling- No matter how you prefer to label it-is so much more than just an organ or a mere feeling; it's the creativeness of the universe speaking right through you. It's the essence of many people's spiritual and emotional wisdom and a valuable guidance from deep within." ~Steve Mueller
I found out a long time ago that our hearts have their own agenda, a mind of their own. We try and control our whole being by what our minds think is best but the heart says something totally different. Why does it have to be so stubborn and stupid? Why can't it just do what it's told to do? Maybe, just maybe we have had it wrong all along. Could it be that our heart is actually the one we need to listen to.
Part of this journey I am on is discovering what my heart truly wants and knows. I know it wants peace, happiness, joy, laughter, it wants everything wonderful for children and family. My heart wants to help, it wants to love those who thought they were unloveable. Those who hurt and don't understand why. It wants to share what I have finally learned.
And it too, wants love. My brain says I'm not ready and my heart somewhat agrees, yet it wants a partner and a best friends to share this life with. It wants to stay up late talking and laughing, It wants the butterflies and the skipping of a heartbeat with a "I'm not thinking about you" text. It knows that time will tell and I'm confident, it knows I am worth it because I was worth it once before.
I looked up articles last night, needing to understand why I have such a pull on my heart that doesn't seem to be diminishing while my head says different. It's fascinating to read and understand how much the heart controls the brain. That our hearts are more powerful and understanding to what the whole needs. I believe the more I understand about my heart and my head, the more I'll be able to reach out to those who need love and understanding. Listen to your heart, it knows something.
