Where did the time go?

We are fast approaching Thanksgiving, then Christmas will be around the corner, suddenly a new year will be celebrated.  Wasn't it just August?   Didn't this journey just begin 14 months ago with a renewal search of myself only 4 months ago?   Yep, the older we get the less "time" it takes to get through the day, week, month and year.

This is the time of year that I'd like for time to slow down.   Especially when child #3 is graduating from HS in the spring and will soon be off to start a new phase of his life.   It was hard with #1, just as painful with #2 and I know #3 won't be any easier.   With each child that grows up and leaves home, it's another chapter that I must finish and start a new one.   The dynamic of life changes, right now, I am a Mom of two boys at home , before it was equal of 2 and 2, boys and girls.   My next stage I'll be the Mom of a single child at home.   I'm not sure how to handle that and considering he is 7 years younger than his next sibling, that's 7 years of him and I , him and his Dad, him and the 2 dogs and 2 cats.   Poor kid, it'll be toughest on him.

Change is never easy, life doesn't prepare us for it.   All we can do is go day by day and hope we do our best.   I don't like change, not many people I know do, yet it's inevitable , a must to make life, life.   We all deal with adjustment differently and as parents, we try to shield and protect our children.    They are resilient little creatures though, they bust through change and acclimate faster than we adults.   Sad thing is, we cannot keep them little and pliable forever.

Change isn't always bad, change can be amazing, we just have to accept it with an open heart and mind.    We have to want to accept it, want what's on the other side to be what is meant to be.   We aren't always in charge of life yet we are in charge of how we respond and accept what life has.

Enjoy this coming week, be thankful for change and what it can mean.

Happy Friday
