Rainbows From the Sky

On my flight from Houston today, the pilot warned us that it would be a 10 min delay, we had to wait for a storm north of us to pass.  Once we were in the air, he again warned us that it would be a bumpy take off and possibly a turbulent ride because of rain and clouds between Houston and home.

I was looking out the window when something caught my eye.  About 5 mins into the flight, I saw a rainbow.   I was looking down on the clouds and the rainbow was below me, it was beautiful and bright.   I grabbed my phone and started snapping photos.  It looked as though the rainbow was a circle.  I couldn't capture it all, it seemed to go beneath the plane.  It just was wonderful.  To the people below on the ground, what they saw was just rainy skies and clouds, I had a different perspective so I saw the beauty that was behind those clouds.

Suddenly, we turned and the rainbow was gone.  We turned again and again.  It felt as though the pilot was maneuvering the aircraft around the darker clouds.  It made me laugh to myself,  it's just like life, we can't always go through every storm head on so sometimes we must learn how to navigate around them.  No matter what though, we stay on course and our destination is the same.

We (talking to myself here, actually yelling it to myself so perhaps I'll listen) must look at life from different angles,  not just focus on what is in front of us but move ourselves around the issues to get a new view of what is ahead.

God promised us a rainbow after the storms, my rainbow is right ahead and at the end is my pot of gold.
