Look To This Day

Look to this day:
For it is life, the very life of life.
In its brief course
Lie all the verities and realities of your existence.
The bliss of growth,
The glory of action,
The splendour of achievement
Are but experiences of time.

For yesterday is but a dream
And tomorrow is only a vision;
And today well-lived, makes
Yesterday a dream of happiness
And every tomorrow a vision of hope.
Look well therefore to this day;
Such is the salutation to the ever-new dawn~ Kalidasa 

Learning to live in the now, learning to be present for today has been hard for me, I've always regretted the past and feared the future.    Taking the first steps in loving myself consists of learning to be appreciactive of what I have right in front of me.  I was too busy worrying about tomorrow to know that what I had at that very moment was wonderful.    One of my favorite Bible scriptures comes from Matthew 6:34 

"Don't worry about tomorrow for tomorrow worries for itself, sufficient for the day is its own trouble"  

I've always loved that. I've always wanted to live by that yet I never could.  Until now. NOW, where I will finally live, love and grow.
